Leader of the new generation of British writers, Toby Litt was born in 1968.
After reading English at Worcester College, he studied creative writing before concentrating entirely on writing. In 2003, the magazine Granta nominated him one of the twenty most promising young novelists in the United Kingdom. His books are varied. He can write both psychological thrillers like Corpsing (published in French as Doux carnage, Seuil, 2001) or Deadkidsongs (published in French as Gang, Seuil, 2002), or fantasy novel like Hospital (Un hôpital d'enfer Phébus 2008, French translation by Alain Defossé).
Litt disregards the conventions of television series by introducing the supernatural, creating something situated between ER and Cronenberg. With Black Masses, diabolical prophecies and resurrected dead, the writer destabilizes the contemporary novel more than ever. For avant-gardists only.
