Aix-en-Provence and Marseille (see below)Born in Kustendil (Bulgaria) in 1947. He started work as a journalist. For a long time he was responsible for translating French poetry at Narodna Kultura Books.
During the seventies, Kadiiski clashed with the Bulgarian Writers' Union resulting in his exclusion from the Komsomol for promoting "Western ideas".
Subsequently, a dozen of his books circulated by samizdat between 1979 and 1989. He then founded an art and literature review and finally a publishing house.
Awarded many national and international prizes, he has also translated Villon, Molière, Baudelaire, Verlaine, Mallarmé, Rimbaud, Apollinaire, Cendrars and others into Bulgarian. Kiril Kadiiski has been in charge of the Bulgarian Cultural Centre in Paris since 2003.
