Under the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the European Commission delegation and the French embassy in Beijing are organising the first European Union Film Festival in China from 1 to 20 December 2008.

The festival's film selection covers 23 recent feature-length films. These films, screened in four different sites in Beijing, will allow the spectator to discover the new face of European cinema.

- Instituto Cervantes - www.pekin.cervantes.es, No. A1, Gongti Nan Lu: from Thursday 4 to Sunday 7 December 2008. Free entry.

- Instituto Italiano di Cultura - www.iicpechino.esteri.it, 2 San Li Tun Dong Er Jie: from Monday 8 to Thursday 11 December 2008. Free entry. ID must be shown in order to enter the embassy.

- Ullens Centre for Contemporary Art (UCCA) - www.ucca.org.cn, 798 Art District, No. 4 Jiuxianqiao Lu: from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 December.

The films are in the original language with subtitles in English and Chinese. There is one screening per film.
