Several venues in Paris (see below)Alberto Ongaro was born in Venice in 1925. From an early age he was carried away by the desires to create and a taste for adventure. After the war, he visited Buenos Aires with Hugo Pratt and Mario Faustinelli, where they founded the prestigious "Venice Group".
In 1962, he returned to Europe and became a literary critic.
In 1979 he returned to Venice for good, and set about building up a singular fictional work haunted by the heroes of the great adventure stories and the protective shadows of Borgès and Nabokov.
Since 2007, Anacharsis has published his picaresque and philosophical novels in France in translations by J.-L. Nardone and J. Malherbe-Galy. The Doge Loredan Tavern (La Taverne du Doge Loredan) and The Secret of Caspar Jacobi (Le Secret de Caspar Jacobi) were published in 2007 and 2008 respectively.
