Choirs from all over Europe will be singing Berlioz under the baton of Claire Gibault at the Palais de la Musique in Strasbourg for an exceptional symphonic concert.

Conductor Claire Gibault, at the head of the Slovakia Philharmonic Orchestra, presents an exceptional concert at the Palais de la Musique in Strasbourg on December 16th, 2008, to close the final session of the European Parliament under French presidency of the Union. On the programme for this evening devoted entirely to composer Hector Berlioz will be: the "Nuits d'été" (Summer nights) cycle with Italian soprano Anna-Caterina Antonacci, "Harold en Italie" (Harold in Italy) performed by young violist Arnaud Thorette, with extracts from, among others, "Romeo and Juliette" and the "Damnation of Faust" with a large children’s choir from around Europe, bringing together choristers from Polish, Estonian, Spanish, Belgian, English and Italian, German and French choir schools.

The concert is hosted by the Orange Foundation.
