These shows are designed as "sensitive" theatre sets, based on interactive technologies relating to images and sound, through which the dancers and the public move.
"Le jardin peint" is a garden created by painter Rebwar Saeed. The colours of the Kurdish landscape combine with the geometric harmonies of an Oriental garden. The painter invites spectators to follow an imaginary trail, to go through doorways and discover areas of sumptuous colour: the yellow garden (earth), the blue garden (water), the green garden (leaves) and the red garden (love). Over the course of this journey, the children explore colours, materials, use of shapes and space and the beauty of Rebwar Saeed's imaginary gardens. On the stage, two dancers create choreographies within various landscapes, each of which contains an animated play frame provided by the painter for the children.
The exploration continues in the form of paintings and the dancers invite the audience to enter the gardens where the stones, earth, plants, flowers, water and animals suggest a theatrical relationship. The gardens grow, develop and are transformed…
For "Le jardin italien", it is a question of imagining sensory landscapes, with the audience of young spectators gathered around a stage. Computer-generated sounds and images enable multiplication of the action and viewpoints. Echoing ideas of harmony from the Italian Renaissance, in a truly extraordinary way this garden becomes a miniature odyssey. Two dancers act as guides through this fantastic exhibition in five stages, each its own universe. Shady garden, labyrinth, verzura, night garden and water garden. Even more beautiful, the public are invited to walk through these imaginary worlds on a white floor brought to life with projections. Another way for them of looking at the world around them, made beautiful for the length of the show.
The poetry distilled by this TPO project cannot be expressed in words - it must be experienced by attending the show.
