This European symphony program presents various aspects of Romantic Europe from the 19th century featuring the young German cellist, Sébastien Klinger, winner of several international awards.
300 students from the academies of Créteil, Paris and Versailles are invited to the concert on the 21st October at Salle Gaveau. To discover the musicians' work, the students can attend the rehersal of Tchaikovsky's Symphony no. 5 the Friday before: the opportunity for them to chat with the conductor and musicians.
Created in 1996 by
, the European Romantic Orchestra's remit is to perform the synphonic repertoire of the romantic era, from Beethoven to Franck.
Comprising of a base of fifty professional musicians with the possibility of increasing to a larger number depending on the works played, it organises concerts in the form of romantic evenings around a specific theme.
Musset (Nuit de Mai), Verdi (Nabucco, ouverture), Dvorak (concerto for cello) and Tchaikovsky (symphony no. 5) are on the concert program for 21st October.
