Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine - Palais de Chaillot - 10 Place du Trocadéro and from November 11th

Located opposite the Eiffel tower, the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine houses unique architectural collections from the Middle Ages to the present day, within the Palais de Chaillot. With its full-scale reproductions of historic monuments and temporary exhibitions, it is the largest architectural centre in the world. From Reims cathedral to Le Corbusier's Cité Radieuse (radiant city), the most prestigious masterpieces of French architecture are put within everyone's reach, through models, reconstructions, multimedia documents and touchable objects.

During the visit by European apprentices, the centre will welcome 1000 apprentices on October 2nd and 3rd. A guided tour is available to apprentices. This will reveal the centre's major works, ranging from large architectural casts, copies of mural paintings, stained glass windows and mock-ups of contemporary architecture. It will explain the specific characteristics of these works while teaching essential reference points for understanding the history of architecture in France. Every apprentice will also receive an educational booklet called "Discovering architecture" in French, English or German, which is both a notebook and includes sketches presenting the main themes of architecture.
