Caisse des dépôts
The European cultural Season is a major event in this year of 2008, making it possible, in the cultural domain, to accompany the French presidency of the European Union. It plays a full-fledged part in the opening to Europe displayed by the Caisse des Dépôts Group.
Why have you decided to support this event?
We decided to back this event in view of the great richness and high quality of its artistic programming. Finally, two events constitute a perfect echo to our sponsorship programme as well as to the activities carried on by Caisse des Dépôts in behalf of housing and territorial development: the exhibition and the colloquium on the new forms of group housing in Europe and the writers' Tour de France, which will make it possible to familiarise the French public, including students, with European literary production.
More generally, what kinds of support does your company provide for cultural activities?
The sponsorship and patronage activities carried on by Caisse des Dépôts are developed on the basis of four programmes: accompaniment of reading in districts in difficulty, urban solidarity, useful creativity (hip hop dancing and contemporary music) and classical music.
In this domain, Caisse des Dépôts, the owner of Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, has initiated a substantial programme for support of dissemination (assistance for festivals), increasing the awareness of various publics, and supporting group vocal practice.
