Declaration by the Presidency of the Council of the European Union to support Egypt’s efforts to restore the truce in Gaza

Bernard Kouchner, French Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, has just talked to Ahmed Abul Gheit, Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs.
On behalf of the French Presidency, Bernard Kouchner told him that the European Union was determined to support Egypt’s efforts to secure the immediate stop to rocket attacks on Israel and of Israeli air raids on Gaza, the reopening of border crossing points, and the return to the truce that prevailed previously in Gaza.
