Enlargement: Intergovernmental conferences with Turkey and Croatia

The French Presidency of the Council of the European Union is organising two intergovernmental conferences on 19 December: one with Turkey and one with Croatia. The EU delegation will be led by Bruno Le Maire, the French Minister for Foreign and European Affairs.
The Presidency's aim is to make fresh progress in negotiations with these two candidate countries at these conferences.
With respect to Croatia, this third intergovernmental conference following the conferences on 25 July and 30 October will constitue an important stage in negotiations, which have entered a decisive stage as underlined by the Council in its conclusions adopted on 8 December.
As far as Turkey is concerned, the Presidency wishes to open two new chapters in negotiations with this country: chapter 4, "Free Circulation of Capital" and chapter 10 "Information Society and Media".
