Sustainable mobility and transport requires the mobilisation of the scientific community to tackle climate change.
This event, held under the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, is being organised by INRETS in partnership with scientific and institutional transnational networks (EARPA, ECTRI, FEHRL, FERSI, EURNEX, HUMANIST, ISN, NEARCTIS, ETRR).
This symposium aims to show how the European surface transport scientific community is working with and implementing Vision 2020 of the European Research Area (ERA), and how it is responding to new challenges linked to climate change, an area of interest for citizens, the business world and government authorities.
The event features a main agenda involving all the participants, as well as a joint, integrated agenda for partners which are involved in two aspects of the ERA Vision 2020:
- its content: towards updating the 7th Research and Development Joint Programme and its follow-up;
- its governance: includes transversal aspects linked to the arrival of a new generation of researchers and the balanced stewardship of this resource and research infra-structures.
In terms of governance, the new 'open-access' science review will be officially launched, being created for an international competition organised by the European Conference of Transport Research Institutes (ECTRI) for acadamic partnership with a publisher, the winner being the German publisher Springer.
The plenary summary reports and conclusions are available to stakeholders involved in the research of sustainable mobility and transport.
