This conference, to be held in Paris from 8 to 10 December 2008, aims to increase awareness among European States of the means of prevention against all forms of terrorism involving nuclear and radiological material.
As part of the fight against terrorism, detection technologies play a key role in the strategies to prevent trafficking and terrorist attacks. This scientific conference will allow an exchange of views on industrial technologies and research and development, and will make the European States more aware of the need for a detection structure in this field.
The conference will also help to promote European expertise in the area of nuclear detection.
