Youth associations will discuss the socio-professional integration of young people in Europe.
Youth unemployment is pandemic and its disastrous effects are being felt throughout Europe. Young people make up 38.5% of unemployed people in the European Union, with almost 4.6 million young people between 15 and 24 years old who are unemployed.
In light of this, the Committee for national and international relations of youth and cultural education associations (CNAJEP), with 70 important voluntary networks working for and with young people in France, is organising a European seminar on youth employment on 6 December next at the Hôtel de Ville in Paris.
This seminar follows on from the work of the European Youth Forum, which led to the drafting of a policy paper targeting European policy makers.
On the eve of the 2009 European elections, actors from civil society and the institutions will come to debate and discuss their proposals on questions relating to access to first jobs, securing career paths and reconciling work and free time.
