Statement by the Presidency of the Council of the European Union on the bad weather in the state of Santa Catarina in Brazil

The Presidency of the Council of the European Union has learned with grief of the dramatic consequences of the extremely bad weather conditions affecting the state of Santa Catarina in Brazil.
It conveys its sincerest condolences to the victims’ families and loved ones and hopes that those reported missing in the floods will be found safe and sound.
The Presidency of the Council of the European Union expresses its friendship for the Brazilian people and authorities and stands together with them at this painful time.
