BusinessEurope will be welcomed to Paris by the French employers' association, MEDEF, on the occasion of its 50th anniversary and the meeting of its Council of Presidents.

BusinessEurope, a confederation of European businesses, represents over 20 million companies of all sizes through its 40 member federations in 34 countries (the 27 Member States, Croatia, Iceland, Montenegro, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland and Turkey). On 4 and 5 December 2008, BusinessEurope, in partnership with MEDEF and on the occasion of the meeting of its Council of Presidents, is holding a special event to mark its 50th anniversary. Several meetings will be organised, as well as meetings with the chairpersons of similar organisations from the USA, Japan, Russia, Canada, India, Brazil, the Mediterranean area (Union of Mediterranean Confederations of Enterprises - BUSINESSMED), the European Trade Union Confederation, and a number of chairpersons of European groups.

On 4 December at 18:00, Nicolas Sarkozy, the President of the French Republic and President of the European Council, will receive EU employers’ organisations and those of G8 member countries at the Elysée Palace.
