The plenary session of the EU network for the implementation and enforcement of Community environmental law (IMPEL) takes place from 3 to 5 December in Clermont-Ferrand.
The plenary meeting of the IMPEL European network is being held withing the framework of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, in conjunction with the Auvergne-Regional Directorate for Industry, Research and Environment (DRIRE). It will be an opportunity for European partners responsible for pollution and risk prevention to strengthen their relations. More specifically, the meeting will lead to the adoption of reports of the working groups, the budget and new projects for the year to come.
Created in 1992, the IMPEL network includes 32 European countries: the EU Member States, the European Economic Area members and the EU accession candidate countries. The network operates in the form of thematic working groups and organises exchanges of information and compares audits across different countries. Committed to the effective implementation of European environmental regulations, the French Presidency wishes to promote IMPEL's role in harmonising environmental inspection practices across the various European Union countries.
