European conference on the "National strategies and plans for rare diseases in Europe"

The French Presidency of the Council of the European Union is organising a conference on the strategies and action plans for rare diseases implemented in the various EU Member States.
The aim of this conference is to:
- review the development of the policies and national action plans for rare diseases in the different Member States of the European Union;
- share experiences on the methods and common themes identified;
- identify the key factors for success which could be the subject of common recommendations.
This conference will bring together political leaders from the Member States and the European Parliament, representatives of the European Commission, associations for diseases and experts:
It comes ahead of the European Commission's plans to adopt a communication and a proposed recommendation of the Council on rare diseases on 5 November.
