EU-SADC troika ministerial meeting on 11 November 2008 is part of dialogue maintained by the two organisations
The ministerial troika between the European Union and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) planned for 11 November 2008 is part of dialogue maintained by the two organisations. The last EU-SADC troika meeting was in Maseru, the capital of Lesotho, on 17 November 2006.
Dialogue between the EU and the SADC has largely focused on the situation in Zimbabwe in recent months: the SADC established a mediation facility that resulted in the 15 September agreement between the Zimbabwean parties, while the EU is very involved in seeking a resolution to the crisis in Zimbabwe.
