EU Quiz in Ukraine

The French Institute of the Ukraine (FIU) has organised a quiz on the European Union to better inform the Ukrainian public on the history of the EU, its institutions and the economic, political and social issues involved.
Broadcast on Radio Gala, which has a national audience and is aimed at a broad and relatively young public, the quiz was held over two weeks in October. Listeners were asked eight rounds of three questions over eight programmes. Questions were on EU geography, history, and institutions. Participants replied via the Internet, and the winners received prizes offered by businesses or institutions such as Air France and Citroën.
Audience figures for the quiz were high with a million people tuning in to Radio Gala's broadcast. Moreover, the participation of the Ukrainian listeners (6349 people took part in the quiz and 8145 people downloaded the quiz information from the Radio Gala website) underlines this country's interest in the EU.
