The French Food Safety Agency (AFSSA), together with the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), is organising a symposium that will focus in particular on the means of intervention for health risk assessment bodies.
The European health system in the field of food, animal health and plant health aims to ensure a high level of consumer, cattle and plant protection. It is based on national and EU risk monitoring and assessment structures and relies on authorities which are charged with developing and applying regulations. Within the European Union, all stages of the process (from primary production up to and including distribution) are subject to monitoring, regulations and checks. The aim of the symposium is mainly to allow different stakeholders to share experiences. The conclusions will be used to stimulate proposals for improving the current system.
