As is customary for the country holding the presidency of the European Council, France will present its armed forces’ operational capabilities to diplomatic and military representatives of the Member States of the European Union. European detachments/ delegations will also attend the demonstration.

The "away day" is a traditional activity organised by the military representative of the country holding the presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Ambassadors from the Political and Security Committee (PSC), military representatives of the Member States, and various other authorities will attend a demonstration of a panel of the French armed forces' combat and projection capabilities at the Rheims Air base and the Mourmelon camp on 25 and 26 September. Elements from other European armed forces will also be involved in this demonstration, which will be an opportunity for the PSC ambassadors, military representatives and all the various participants and authorities present to hold informal talks.

The aim is to show - through a static and dynamic presentation - the range of capabilities of the French forces within their current and future committments.
