The Young Europeans Summer University (France) from 18 to 21 September in Clermont-Ferrand, will focus on "The French Presidency of the Council of the EU: A springboard to the European elections".

At the halfway point of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Young Europeans Summer University (France) hopes to attract media attention and open up discussion on the future of European construction by focusing on the debates and action undertaken by the French Presidency.

Among the subjects to be addressed at the Summer University are:

  • the Common Agricultural Policy;
  • Europe in the Media;
  • the June 2009 European Elections.

The French Presidency of the Council of the European Union wishes to take hold of the major current issues related to European construction, while increasing debate around European topics in French politics. The Summer University will help mobilise the Young Europeans (France) in this context and also aims to raise public awareness about the 2009 European elections.

Bringing together dozens of Young Europeans (France) members, with the support of the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and local and regional communities, the Summer University is a unique occasion to meet and debate with members from all over France.

Young Europeans (France) unites young people in a common desire to promote European construction. Their action is based on political pluralism, tolerance and openness.
