The national parliaments of the 27 EU Member States and the European Parliament are meeting in Brussels on 10 and 11 September 2008 for a joint parliamentary meeting on the theme of "Europe: migration and integration". The French ministers Brice Hortefeux and Jean-Pierre Jouyet will address the meeting on behalf of the Council of the European Union.

The French Mayors Association (AMGVF) will hold the 8th Cities Conference on Thursday 11 September 2008 at Paris City Hall (Hôtel de Ville). Entitled "From Lisbon to Göteborg, cities make Europe strong!", this event will bring together some 800 European elected officials to debate the role of European cities in the construction of Community policy.
