- from: 03.09.2008
- to: 04.09.2008
- In: Brussels
This exhibition presents the national symbols on Euro coins and the European symbols on Euro notes from each of the 15 eurozone member countries and the three other States that use the euro, Monaco, Saint-Marino and the Vatican.
Photos and commentaries are provided for each coin and note. The exhibition commentaries name and explain the designs used on the sides of Euro coins, whether they be artistic, cultural, historical or political. The designs on the notes represent symbols of European architecture.
An opening ceremony and press-briefing for the Euro-Culture Exhibition and Quiz will be held on 3 September 2008 in the European Parliament (EP) in Brussels at 17:00, ASP, 3rd Floor in the "Bar Forum" space, alongside the EP plenary session. The exhibition provides German and English translations and will remain in the European Parliament from 1 to 4 September 2008.
Jean-Pierre Jouyet, French Minister of State for European Affairs on behalf of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union and Pervenche Bérès, Chairman of the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee on behalf of the European Parliament, will co-chair the event.
