Rama Yade will represent the Presidency of the Council of the European Union at the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF).
Rama Yade will be accompanied by representatives of the European Commission and the Council Secretariat. Their participation reflects the European Union's committment to the ARF.
The ARF is the only forum dedicated to political and security issues in the Asia-Pacific region. It will be an opportunity to reaffirm the European position on political and security issues at a regional and international level.
The 27 participants in the ARF are: Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Burma/Myanmar, Cambodia, Canada, China, European Union, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, North Korea, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, East Timor, United States and Vietnam.
