Launch of EuroNews in Arabic live from the Arab World Institute

On 12 July 2008 EuroNews launched its eighth language version and begins around the clock broadcast (24 hours a day, 7 days a week)

Like the BBC, Deutsch Welle and France 24, EuroNews the European news channel will broadcast around the clock Arab language programmes from 12 July 2008.

17 Arab-speaking journalists were recruited to meet the needs of this European Union financed project.

Under distribution agreements signed by EuroNews, the Arab language version of the channel can be seen in the Maghreb and Mashrek countries and the Gulf States.

Philippe Cayla, president of EuroNews, Michael Peters, managing director of EuroNews, Dominique Baudis, president of the Arab World Institute and Mokhtar Taleb-Bendiab, managing director of the Arab World Institute will launch EuroNews in Arabic, the eighth language version of the European news channel on 12 July 2008 at 17:30.
