The chairpersons of the Economic Affairs commissions came together for an interparliamentary meeting which was held in the National Assembly on 10 July on the subject of transport and sustainable development.
The meeting brought together the chairpersons from the parliamentary commissions of the parliaments of the EU Member States competent for this subject. The two subjects specifically selected for discussion were:
- Should the development of new fuels be prioritised over the work already engaged into making current vehicles 'cleaner'?
- The alternatives to the dominant use of roads for freight transportation.
