Nicolas Sarkozy, the current President of the European Council, presented the six-month work programme of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union to the Members of the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Thursday, 10 July 2008.
After the presentation, the President of the European Council and José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission, answered questions from the group presidents and the MEPs.
The President of the European Council then held a joint press conference with Hans-Gert Pöttering, President of the European Parliament.
