Franco-German Dialogues: European Viewpoints

Under the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the French embassy in Germany and its cultural network, in partnership with European Movement Germany and European Movement France, is organising a series of debates under the "Impulse zu Europa/Penser l'Europe" banner.
Some twenty debates will be held all over Germany - Berlin, Dresden, Dusseldorf, Essen, Hamburg, Leipzig and Munich - from July to December 2008. Each debate will be an opportunity to oppose the viewpoints of two leading political, artistic or intellectual figures from France and from Germany on subjects such as European memory, European public opinion, languages in Europe, a Europe of learning and the place of Islam in Europe.
The dialogues will be conducted in French and German, with simultaneous interpretation in both languages.
